How to install Discoverer plug-in by copying files and changing registry

In order for some clients on slow network connection to use Discoverer workbooks, I'd like to copy necessary files to a CD and have them install those on their computers, possibly with some registry change / addition. This way they don't have to open the broser to download and install for several hours. Has anyone done this? Thanks for help.
