OS : NT4.0 & Win2k
Restrictions : Policy strategy on the NT-PC-Client (inc. Registry access).

I have some information under
'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\CONTROL\COMPUTERNAME\COMPUTERNAME\'
which I
need to try to read with WIN_API_ENVIRONMENT.ReadRegistry(). This works fine on Win9x, but "Users" on Winnt 4.0 & "Normal Users" Win2k have to have 'Read & Write' for this registry key. Else the user gets the error
'Cannot read Registry Entry....' With GPO in effect I don't feel I
should have to set any special access to this key. I would like to keep the current 'Read' permissions. Received on Fri Oct 26 2001 - 23:17:56 CEST
