[Quoted] you're right. I tested it: call form works, open_form comes back with frm-40737 (restricted procedure open form in when-validate-item-trigger). I think it has to do something with oracle validating- mechanism, that call_form (thats coming back) is not but open form (that doesn't come back) is restricted.

Can you use call_form instead of open form? If not, maybe oracle support knows a workaround (sometimes they really do know something - at least worth a try )?
