Personally I think it's a bit heavy to get started on the PC, but it gives better error messages, debugging possibility (than SQLPlus), but we have had problems when the packages are too big :-( this might be fixed in later releases...

It may allow syntax that SQLPlus doesn't allow as default, but big things but: ending "/", Line feed between lines in view definitions. This may give [Quoted] you a few surprises if you once in a while want to create your object via SQLPlus.
