I had similar problems using C++ Builder 4 from the IDE. I found that switching to a DOS box and running the make batch file compiled with no errors.
Have a look in the make file for the libraries & the order they need to be linked.

I would like to use C++ Builder to create GUI applications for some utilities I have in mind, but I have yet to get a link to happen. Seems to be ok in DOS, but won't link in GUI. I have converted the libraries from MS to Borland even though there is a borland 'compatible' library in the /lib/borland directory.

The other suggestion 'to use the MS libraries and files' was not helpful - some of us don't have an MS compiler.

HTH Regards, Norman.
