when I use svrmgrm on a v7.3.4.5.0 installation to connect to any other db version (specifically 7.3.4.4.0 and 8.0.5.2.1), I get the opening screen that says:
Oracle7 Server Release 7.3.4.5.0 - Production With the distributed and replication options PL/SQL release 2.3.4.5.0 - Production
Oracle Server Manager Release 2.3.4.0.0 - Production Connected as 'SYS' using version 7.3.2.0.0 views
or when connected to my oracle 8.0 db from the same installation:
Oracle Enterprise Edition Release 8.0.5.2.1 - Production PL/SQL release 8.0.5.2.0 - Production
Oracle Server Manager Release 2.3.4.0.0 - Production Connected as 'SYS' using version 7.3.2.0.0 views
Is there something I should be doing or is the svrmgrm supposed to be using the 7.3.2.0.0 views?
I should mention that I haven't seen any problems with performing actions in svrmgrm and it has probably been this way for the past few years (since we first upgraded to Oracle 7.3.4)
I only noticed it now because we had a crash on one server last week and after restoring from backups, I wanted to ensure all versions were the same as before the crash.
Thanks
