Web reports db authentication

Hello all,
has anyone successfully implemented Oracle's db authentication form with web Reports 6.0 ?
When we run the report from a URL that includes the userid everything seems to work fine. When we exclude the userid part the db authentication form shows up, however when we enter the user, password and db name and press the submit button, nothing happens. Any clues?
