Position: Oracle DBA
Location: Wilmington DE.
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3-6 months
Description:
Need an Oracle DBA to perform production support for a large and
growing HP-UX/NT environment.
Position Responsibilities: Install and upgrade Oracle databases to
support aggressive SAP R/3 and SAP Business Warehouse (BW)
implementations; Install and upgrade Oracle databases to support the
implementation of non-SAP products, such as Manugistics, Avenue, and
iXOS; Work with operations personnel to document and test database
backup and recovery procedures; Establish and execute database
monitoring and tuning procedures to ensure space availability and good
database performance; perform database reorganizations as required;
Collaborate with technical staff on troubleshooting, hardware sizing,
and software upgrades; Collaborate with the developers in the creation
and use of new data dictionary objects and in establishing Oracle
database connectivity via SQL*NET and other tools. Act as a leader to
other, more junior DBA's.
Requirements: 2 or 4 yr Computer Science degree or it's equivalent
exp.; Oracle DBA experience; Self starter w/good logic, problem
solving, and organization skills; Team player; Ability to work under
time pressure and willingness to do what it takes to meet deadlines;
Desire to work in a constantly changing environment; Attn. to detail
with good follow-through on all work; Member of on-call rotation; Some
off hour and week-end work.
