JDeveloper Connection Problem

Hi all. I'm trying to create a new connection in JDeveloper. When I test my connection, I get "Network adapter could not establish the connection" and "String index out of range: -1" exceptions.

Hi all. I'm trying to create a new connection in JDeveloper. When I test my connection, I get "Network adapter could not establish the connection" and "String index out of range: -1" exceptions.
I can connect to another instance with no problem.
I can connect to this problem instance using TOAD, SQL+ or Delphi.
Can anybody out there assist me? JDeveloper's documentation is not too helpful when things go wrong.
