OCI runtime problem

For the past year and a half, we have been running a couple of OCI programs connecting to an Oracle 7.3.4 database. Last week all of our executables starting core dumping w/ a segmentation
fault(stack trace follows). We finally corrected the problem by recompiling the programs. According to our DBA and Sys Admins, nothing changed. Any ideas?
