Hi.
We are using Microsoft Transaction Server 2.0, running on Windows NT 4 with service pack 4,
to communicate with an Oracle database on a Unix box. A part of the installation for the NT Client software a MMC Snap-in was installed. This snap-in controls a service to comunicate with the Oracle DB. When the service is started the following error messages are written to the services trace:
  1. [245] OracleMgr::Initialize - Start.
  2. [245] OracleMgr::Initialize - Success: OracleMgr is now initialized.
  3. [245] DTCMgr::Initialize - Start.
  4. [245] DTCMgr::Initialize - Error: [Quoted] QueryInterface(IID_IResourceManager2) failed with error -2147467262. Retrying.
  5. [245] DTCMgr::Initialize - Error: please make sure MS DTC is running.
  6. [245] DTCMgr::Initialize - Start.
  7. [245] DTCMgr::Initialize - Error: QueryInterface(IID_IResourceManager2) failed with error -2147467262. Retrying.
  8. [245] DTCMgr::Initialize - Error: please make..........etc

Can anyone tell me the reason that this error is and how to fix the problem?

Thanks for the help,
