WHAT IS HEADSTART? 



Headstart Oracle Designer is an add on to Oracle 
Designer, based on Oracle Consulting best practices.  
It consists of two components: 
 


·Headstart Template Package, a sophisticated set of templates 
and reusable components that allow you to 100% generate a 
truly professional Graphical User Interface (GUI) which can 
be deployed as easily on the Web as on MS Windows. 
 


·Headstart Utilities, a productivity suite that checks and 
enforces the worldwide Oracle Custom Development Method (CDM) 
standards. It greatly improves quality  and significantly 
accelerates your development cycle through automation of  
time-consuming tasks in Oracle Designer. 
 


WHAT IS THE ORACLE ECHO TRIAL? 



Oracle Echo is a powerful solution for Software Configuration 
Management (SCM) in an Oracle Designer environment. It is a  
collection of a SCM framework, procedures, services and powerful  
tools. On the Headstart CD customers get a free trial of 
the Oracle Echo tools (Extended Copy and Merge, Extended Compare 
Replace and Repository Quick Scan) for Oracle Designer 2.1. The  
Oracle Echo front end is 100% generated using Headstart. 
There are some restrictions that apply to the trial, please  
refer to our web site for more information.  
Oracle Echo is free for clients that engage Oracle Consulting  
in an SCM engagement.

The Headstart Template Package has been completely rewritten

components, object libraries, module application logic, and  
Server API.

PRICING 



The license price for Headstart Oracle Designer 2.1.2 is USD 1495. 
Customers have to buy the same number of licenses as the number of 
Oracle Designer licenses. Additional to the license price customers
are obliged to buy 5 day Consulting Service for the price of USD 1195
per day.


Customers that already have bought a previous release of Headstart  
can benefit from a promotion pricing of USD 499 per license in  
this calendar year. Additional to the license price customers
are obliged to buy 3 day Consulting Service for the price of USD 1195
per day.


For prices in local currency you can just take the valid exchange  
rate and calculate a local price.

SUPPORT 



Headstart Oracle Designer is a tier3 product. This means that 
support is only delivered on a time and material basis by 
Oracle Consulting and there is NO support available through  
Oracle's World Wide Support Organization.  
Issues are logged in the bug database which means that customers  
that have the availability to look in the bug database (metalink) 
are able to browse the existing issues.

Template Package User Guide, chapter 10 'Troubleshooting'. 
 


FUTURE 



We plan to upgrade Headstart Oracle Designer to  
Oracle Designer release 6.0 (expected end of this fiscal/start 
next fiscal). Exact enhancements for this Headstart release  
are not yet fully defined which means you have the  
opportunity to let us know what you want. 
 


RELATED OFFERINGS 



The custom development center of excellence has a number of  
related offerings.  
 


CDM Classic, Fast Track and Standards and Guidelines 
CDM Classic and CDM Fast Track describe two different ways  
to approach a custom development project. They both come 
with the same Standards and Guidelines Library (SGL) for  
Oracle Designer. Headstart implements and checks these
