Browse alt.computer.ads , comp.databases.oracle.marketplace and this newsgroup. Oracle Magazine and www.oracle.com have a dedicated section on this subject. www.thebestjobs.com is another valuable source.

Given the relative small number of Oracle specialists and fast growing of internet appliations, the demand is high.

You already touched VB weak point: too many professionals and adventurers. As a former MSDN member, I was used to attend its seminars. Few years ago I quit.

I agree the Oracle entry price is higher, but the results will reward your efforts. You can reach new markets, not mined by wild competition. The transition may be difficult, but it can be managed.

It is a hard decision. Collect several opinions, visit companies and developers implementing MS and Oracle solutions. Then take a firm decision based on a solid foundation.
