ASCII file greater than 80 characters

I have a report that is being written to an ASCII file. The length of the ASCII file is 1100 characters. The problem is that Reports 3.0 is breaking the line into 80 character segments, placing a new line in the 80th position. How do I prevent the report from placing the new line characters into the ASCII file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
