From 7.3.3 on, the Intelligent Agent is self-configuring. However, IA is depending upon you to have properly configured your SQL*Net environment and Enterprise Manager credentials. I recommend the following:

  1. Get your SQL*Net configuration files in order first.
  2. Set your Enterprise Manager O/S and database credentials next.
  3. Start your Solaris IA.
  4. Discover same from the EM console.
