Problem with Personal Oracle8 and Developer/2000 v2

Has anyone had a problem running d2k version 2.0 and Personal Oracle8 together? I have them both installed on my pc and for some reason d2k will not connect to po8. I have been working with Oracle Tech Support, but I was wondering if any had seen this problem before and how they handled it.
