We try to work with Web Forms 5.0.
However Web Forms server (on NT 4.0) causes some problems like DrWatson in some specific situations (new product), it works with quite good performance. Just like the Application Server.

But browser ....

Well --- 'thin client" is a PentiumPro or K6 233 MHz computer with 64 MB of RAM (WinNT).
CPU time consumed by browser while loading runtime and performing some simply actions with up to 3-4 simple forms is about 2 minutes !!!! Calling one form by another (call_form) takes ~10-15 seconds. Navigating between fields, records and blocks consumes a lot of CPU (about 1 second of CPU time per 2 clicks on scrollbar or between records) and goes veeeery slowly. Netscape (4.04 with JDK 1.1.4 patch) or IExplorer (4.01) are then on top of CPU usage.
Of course better results are when 'thin client' machine is dual Pentium II 300MHz. Then web forms run quite quickly. Probably if I used NC with SPARC processor inside the results would be fine.

Of course it's caused by poor perforance of Java Virtual Machine. Is there any way to speed up it?
IExplorer gives forcing JIT (just in time) compilation, but it is not satisfacting.
And with IExplorer 4.01 there are some problems like hanging java window while alert window is called and replace_menu procedure failing.

Does anyone run web forms with satisfying performance on PC with web browser ?
Any comments & suggestions appreciated.
