I think the JDK 1.1.2 requirement is right. We have successfully run a WebForms applet on IE3 with the IE4 Java VM, IE4, Netscape 4.04 (w/JDK 1.1 patch) and JDK 1.1.2's appletviewer. This is on Windows 95 and Windows NT. On Solaris it works on Netscape 4.04 (w/JDK 1.1 patch), HotJava and the appletviewer.
