Database syncronization tools available?

Greetings,
I have corporate data held in an vax-based oracle database. I need to have this data available totally offline on laptops with the ability to periodically dial in and syncronize the offline and central database (new data is added only to the central database so the sync flows only 1 way). Are there any off the shelf products that can do this? Would any of these tools syncronize over the internet?
An emailed reply to Collicuttl_at_vannt1.pac.dfo.ca in addition to a posted reply would be greatly appreciated since I'm afraid I don't check this news group very often.
