Creating Oracle tables with Paradox

[Quoted] Paradox for windows (oops, forgot the version #) allows, through ODBC anyway, one to create a table in Oracle (v7.2.3, SGI running IRIX 5.3).

[Quoted] After the table creation, I can see this table in USER_TABLES in lowercase - this is how it was created via Paradox. But when I try to describe it, query it, or drop it, I get the "Table or view does not exist" error!!! Yet from Paradox, I can see it, query it, and remove it.

So we recreated it from Paradox as an uppercase name and from Oracle all appeared to be OK. I could select, describe, and drop it.

However, a similar problem occurred with the column names, lower case columns could not be explicitly selected or modified (alter table xxx modify ...).

Has anyone encountered this problem? Is there any answer?

Also, can the data from "MEMO" fields be inserted?

In advance, thank you for any suggestions. Received on Fri Feb 07 1997 - 00:00:00 CET
