Oh, I stopped worrying about "fragmentation" about 20 years ago. And have not needed to "defragment" a db since about 2007. The day someone proves to me with actual, real numbers, that "defragmentation" improves performance when using LMT uniform with bigfile file systems on a good LVM using a SAN with storage performance tiering, I might read anything again about it. Until then, I'll live and sleep easy - even on buses! ;) I am sooooooo glad nowadays I don't have to use Linux!... Received on Wed Feb 11 2015 - 01:53:16 CET
