PL/SQL 'sucked big time' because it was just introduced with Release 6, and it was basically a slightly overhauled implementation of ADA. I also worked with PL/SQL in that release but, because I could get loops and such to hobble along to completion (which I couldn't do with SQL*Plus), I wasn't inconvenienced. That being said I certainly do appreciate the improvements to PL/SQL over the years and various releases.
