The only difference between a Shutdown Immediate and a Shutdown Normal is that the first one (Immediate) does NOT "wait for users to exit". It replaces that portion with "canceling active transactions and rollback".

Perhaps it was "stuck" doing the "canceling, etc." for some odd reason. 30 minutes for a shutdown is not normal. Makes even less sense since it appears your startup was successful. Received on Fri Nov 02 2012 - 15:53:50 CET
