I am not and will not say bad things about the hotsos resource profiler. It was a wonderful gift to the oracle world having Cary write his book and offer insight into how to take apart a 10046 trace.

The tool orasrp has been very useful to me and continues to have important capabilities added to it. The latest version works extremely well and had all the functionality that "was" present in the hotsos resource profiler recently.

Personally I would recommend you take out the latest version of orasrp for a spin. If you have the money to support Cary and his organization that's all fine and good ... I was not able to offer my management any significant reasons to choose that tool over a free and highly capable one. Received on Sat Oct 20 2007 - 15:39:18 CDT
