Why not upgrade Infranet from 6.5 to 7.x?

Then you could upgrade to Oracle 10g at the same time. We use Infranet 7.2.1 on Oracle 10gR2.

I think you'll see more performance benefit from upgrading Infranet than Oracle. In Portal 7, the rating engine has been rewritten in C - It's Java in earlier versions.

You're not likely to see massive performance benefits from upgrading Oracle since Infranet uses fairly vanilla features of the database (pretty much just SELECT, UPDATE and INSERT).

However, later Oracle versions have benefits other than simply better performance - manageability, pretty GUI tools, etc. And having a supported version would be good too, right? ;-) Received on Sat Oct 20 2007 - 12:31:21 CDT
