Versions?!? UTF8 implementations have changed dramatically from 8i on - you may just run into one of these situations...

You could change the character set of the "client" - in quotes on purpose, as one server acts as client to the other. It's a matter of environment variables - platforms?!?

Top-posting is one way to shut me up...
