Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Release 10.2.0.1.0 running on Solaris; agents on a variety of solaris and Win2k?

Setting up for email notification of alerts.

Signed on to GC as sysman
Went to setup | notification methods
Supplied the name of our email server, a string for "Identify Sender As", and my Outlook email address for "Sender's E-mail Address" Clicked "Test Mail Servers" and in short time received an email in my Outlook inbox. So far, so good, mail generated from GC can find its way out to our Exchange server and on to a valid smtp mail address.

Select 'Preferences' | 'General'
Under 'Email Addresses' I add my Outlook address, my partner's Outlook address, and my cell phone text msg address (mynumber_at_vtext.com)(Cell phone service is Verizon)
Select all 3 addresses and click 'Test'. Email is received at all 3 locations, including a text msg on my cell phone.

Select 'Preferences | Schedule'
Click 'edit schedule definition'
Select 'Edit Existing Schedule'; select time zone; click 'Continue' Set 'start time' and 'end time' both to 12:00 am select all 3 email addresses (two Outlook, one vtext) select all days of week and click 'batch fill in' confirm that all time blocks show all 3 addresses click 'finish'

Select 'Preferences | 'Rules'
Check 'Subscribe (Send email)' for all rules. Apply.

Shut down one of the monitored test databases. Email msg is received at both Outlook addresses, but never received at the cell phone address. Received on Mon Nov 27 2006 - 15:53:45 CST
