Tom Kyte's books are good, but they do not cover back room DBA tasks, like installing Oracle, creating databases, etc. They are directed at development DBAs - his books are excellent for the subjects that he covered.

Amazon.com lists "Oracle Database 10g: A Beginner's Guide", and it is not highly rated on the Amazon site.

"Expert Oracle Database 10g Administration" is a very good supplement to Tom Kyte's "Expert Oracle Database Architecture". The "Expert Oracle Database 10g Administration" covers what are the duties of the DBA, how to solve problems, how to configure a new Oracle database instance, how to create undo tablespaces, etc.

Your image "My OEM" shows the Oracle 10g Enterprise Manager Database Control - this is the full featured single database Enterprise Manager.  Your image "Book OEM" shows the Oracle Enterprise Manager version that is included with the Oracle Client software, which does not include all of the configuration features of the Enterprise Manager Database Control, but is intended for backward compatibility with Oracle 9i and 8i - this version allows you to easily manage multiple databases.
