Oracle 10g is imprecise. Oracle10g and Oracle10g XE may be different beasts with respect to connectivity.
On a normal 10g you'll need to reconfigure listener.ora and tnsnames.ora. Information about configuring those files can be found in the Getting Started Manual and the Net Administrator Manual.
