Amen to that. I had EMC redo a SAN configuration for Oracle for that exact reason. I don't give a crap how you usually configure it (mirroring without striping and giving me tiny 18GB volumes), I want it configured properly to meet database requirements.

Of course, having a lead pipe close at hand helps too.
