Hello,
I noticed my listener was not running on my Solaris 8, Oracle 8 installation. I went to restart it using the command

./bin/lsnrctl start

and got this error

LSNRCTL for Solaris: Version 8.1.7.0.0 - Production on 20-JAN-2005 09:54:31

(c) Copyright 1998 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.

Starting /opt/oracle/product/current/bin/tnslsnr: please wait...

TNS-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
TNS-00515: Connect failed because target host or object does not
exist
Solaris Error: 2: No such file or directory

What does it mean? What is my next troubleshooting step? Thanks, - Dave Received on Thu Jan 20 2005 - 09:02:28 CST
