SuSE had a complete step by step instruction set for most versions at http://www.suse.com/oracle >> Support Matrix. The link also points to the support files, and so on.

They seem to be stopping that site, but it's still very useful. I've done Oracle on SuSE 8.1, 8.2, 9.0 and SLES8 using the info. Unfortunately the site doesn't include 9.1 or SLES9(new kernels and all), but now that Oracle has certified 9iR2 on SLES 9, we can hope to get help from Oracle as well.
