You don't want 9.0.1 anymore its old.  Try perhaps WBEL white box
enterprise linux its a clone of RH Enterprise 3 along with 9.2.0.1
download from oracle.



Then patch oracle eventually to 9.2.0.4 or 9.2.0.5



Lots of good linux install doc on web think its www.puschitz.com 



Or try 10g instead of 9i perhaps.
