Can anyone explain to me the benfit performance from moving from Oracle 8.1.7.4 32 bit to Oracle 8.1.7.4 64 bit on Solaris 8?

I'm currently have an E450, 4 Gig of memory, 4 x 450 MHZ CPU running and I'm thinking of moving to a
Sunfire V880, 18 Gig of memory, 8 x 1.05 GHZ CPU and should I got to the 64 bit so I can take advantage of the additional memory?

If I stay with the 32bit I can I take advantage of the additional memory since 32 bit can only use upto 3.5 Gig (or something like that) ?
Thanks for all feedack. Received on Thu Mar 11 2004 - 21:22:54 CST
