If you are paying $300/hour to have a consultant download what any 12 year old can do for free. And software that is included on the 10g installation CD you will have every consultant on this continent knocking on your door offering you the deal of a lifetime.

And exactly where was it written, or even suggested, that the entire upgrade needed to happen in a single weekend? And what is the alternative? Stay with the 8i client when they move to Oracle 12?

Any company with 25,000 client machines has sufficient financial resources to solve the problem. I'll not cry one tear for them.
