It is installed in mission critical environment several times. They have customers in many OLTP-applications like SAP R/3 and individual software. Is a 250 Gigabyte installation large enough ? Alternativeliy is - as far as I know - only data guard from oracle. IBM has a shadow add on with its db2. But this is not really comparable, they do more "cloning" or "doubling" of transactions.
