Your words come across a bit harshly. I know both the author and the editor of that book. It's exactly what it's supposed to be. It's the ubiquitous trade-show data dictionary poster in book form. And it's much more easily carried back on the airplane<grin>. In fact, one of O'Reilly's marketing goals for that book is to market it as a giveaway. Does the book contain exactly what's in the docs? Pretty much, but that's by design. Some might prefer a poster on the wall, others will go straight to the Oracle Database Reference in PDF or HTML form, and still others might prefer a handy, pocket-book.
