Actually we will. Not from the companies themselves. But from Oracle's competitors and from job interviews. Everyone's had their share of failures and disappointments. But the apps running the organizations named above are doing an adequate job.

Yes. And as you didn't hear anything from IBM or Sybase or Microsoft you can pretty much assume what happened. Internal DBAs at Orbitz ignored hours of warnings both on-screen and in the alert logs and when they finally got around to fixing a basic resource issue ... didn't contact Oracle support for help but tried it themselves with disasterous results. In short ... Orbitz will not be suing Oracle or even changing database vendors. They will, however, likely modify their internal processes.

"Unbreakable" does not mean you can apply C4 and a blasting cap to your server.
