DB2 UDB runs on OS/390 (Z/OS), UNIX, Windows, LINX, OS/400, VSE, etc,. You did not mention what platform you were a DB2 DBA on as you need to know the platform also to be a good DBA.

In a former life I was a DB2 DBA on OS/390 which is much different from DBA on UNIX or the other platforms.

I recommend.

Oracle Concepts as other is a good starting place.

Many colleges now teach Oracle.

I would start with some of the development issues and then gravitate toward DBA.

Also, try to compare DB2 and Oracle concepts and this will help a lot. Received on Thu May 22 2003 - 18:18:39 CDT
