this is a non-issue with OUI that ships with 9i R2. if you can, skip 8.1.7 and go straight to 9.2. not because of the issue w.r.t. OUI problems, but because 8.1.7 is soon desupported.

and upgrade the version of OUI prior to installing the 9.2.0.3 patchset.

read the readme.txt, readmt.htm and check the alerts on metalink.
