Thanks for your reply.

I will check out the processes and eliminate what I can. I am fairly sure my
ORACLE_SID var is correct, but I will check that also.

I have tried the install with RH 7.3 and 7.1 and both failed for similar reasons.
I did get a little further with 7.1, I believe. I suspect that the trouble lies
with the JRE and/or the JDK. I don't think it installed itself correctly. Right
out of the gate I had to intervene to get the install to continue past that part
of the procedure.

I had much better results with Oracle 8i and RH 6.2. Received on Thu Aug 08 2002 - 08:24:01 CDT
