I know that common sense doesn't apply to businesses and legal matters, but if we take your point to the extreme ("anything we put out on our own time"), then Oracle employees like you, Tom Kyte and Howard should require legal approval for every message posted to these newsgroups.

Not that I expect a legal department to understand these issues, however.
