What makes you trust this piece of news ? Since when is "dejanews" the "official" source of info for Oracle ? *There is no version 8.3.X*. There is Release 3 of version 8i though. (which I'm trying to get my hands on right now, but it's no longer even downloadable as of now)
This is all confusion due to lazy use of words and jumbled communication (and ignorance).
