I am sorry to have caused contention on this board - I did not mean to.

Most of our clients run on MS SQL Server and IBM DB2 and we do have qualified people to handle these types of databases.

If you're wondering why we're running Oracle it's because we have a couple of clients who wanted to do this. We have fully informed them that we do not have an Oracle DBA in our office for our test systems and if they want to run with Oracle, they must have a DBA in their office. Since this is not our main database platform, it was cost-effective to not have someone administer our test databases (schemas) on this platform. However, I'm sure we're rethinking this position and I'm pushing to get a consultant in on a regular basis to care for the Oracle database.

We are back up and running with the Oracle database and I'd like to thank those of you who have offered us solutions to our problem.
