ORA-01102

Hi all.

I'm hoping someone might have a simple answer for me. I'm trying to get two seperate Oracle 8i instances running on one Windows 2000 box. I have thoroughly checked that both instances have control files that map to different directories. Both instances have datafiles and log/redo files mapped correctly to seperate paths, and yet I only seem to be able to run one instance at a time. If one instance is already started and I attempt to start the other, I get an "ORA-01102 Cannot mount database in EXCLUSIVE mode" error.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
