hello,

is there anyone who has the same expierence:

Installed Oracle 8.1.5 on Dig. Unix 5.1 on a GS320 server from Compaq. Installation notes from Oracle says SHMMAX parameter from 2GB to 8Mb.

Running the database and let it crash, system reboot. After reboot, starting database wil not open and mentioned an ora600 error. No recovery possible.
SHMMAX parameter was set at 8Mb.
Altered the parameter in 16Mb.
Rebooted the system and started the database. At this point the database was recovered and running smoothly.

Has anyone the same expirience ? It was'nt as Oracle said according to the installation manual.
