I'd love to see some accurate test results on this subject also. I would tend to believe the PL/SQL is faster, but I don't have any hard data to confirm this belief.

Performance aside, I prefer writing in PL/SQL over Java for the sake of simplicity, efficiency, and maintainability. PL/SQL is, after all, the native language of the database. IMO, Oracle only added Java because it is currently fashionable.
