It seems to be a confirmed problem between Oracle and the glibc coming with Redhat 7.0. Go to bugzilla.redhat.com and query bug# 18391. There is a workaround there. It will involve a bit of shuffling things around and reinstalling Oracle, but you only need it to do it once. I tried it and after the workaround, I was able to build databases with dbassist normally.
