What is your problem?

Do you want to buy 6G of memory only to have it not used?

A well designed system should find ways of using all of the memory available to enhance efficiency.

Solaris keeps recently used data in buffers, so that if it is needed again it need not be read in. As Oracle requires more, solaris will free up some of what it is using to make it available to Oracle. Received on Tue Apr 04 2000 - 00:00:00 CDT
