Terrabyte Databases

hi,

those who have experience of managing databases > 1 Terabyte in size -

1. What backup methodology do you use / suggest
2. what backup hardware is used / suggested
3. What server platform is used / suggested

We are looking at a system that would hold > 1 TB data mostly in the form of images, that would be viewable via the internet.

I realise there is not much info here, but any help, guidance ideas would be appreciated.
